STAGE 1 · WHERE COURAGE BEGINS
The frightened disciples meet the risen Jesus
Christian courage begins with the risen Jesus: His peace, His presence, His sending and His Spirit.
The disciples were hiding behind locked doors. Jesus did not wait for them to become fearless. He came to them, gave them peace, showed them that He was alive and sent them out with the Holy Spirit.
Their courage did not come from convincing themselves that everything would be easy. It came from encountering the risen Jesus.
When fear makes you withdraw, remember who Jesus is and what He has done. You do not face the next faithful step abandoned or without His Spirit.
